Transparency | Sharing my thoughts on Sustainability
Sustainability in fashion is a complex beast. Compromises have to be made at every junction. There is no one ‘true sustainable’ solution or fabric.
There are complexities around choosing local materials, or organic ones that have to be shipped half-way across the world. Laundering the clothes is a whole other kettle of fish.
Everything that is made took resources and caused some form of harm.
Every single thing.
Sometimes it feels too overwhelming, as if starting a fashion label is the absolute last thing that our planet needs. I’m going to be releasing a series of bite-sized blogs honestly explaining my thoughts, fears and compromises as I take a multi-faceted approach to creating Sofija Butler, a socially and environmentally responsible fashion label.
My goal is to be working imperfectly, improving at all opportunities.
